Stay Cool and Read

Going on a vacay? Bored and just sick of the too-hot air? Want some new reading material?

This girl got you covered!
(see what I did there?)

The following is a list of 5 book titles combined with a brief summary about the book in my own words. If these don't satisfy, search for more on some fiction websites! Feel free to comment below with your favorite summer books and why you love them!
*The images used are not the book covers, but free from pixabay and relate to the book itself. Also, all summaries are my own words and of my own invention!

Coming in at #5:

Eragon, by Christopher Paolini

Eragon finds a dragon egg near his home and becomes one of the last Dragon Riders, and finds himself in a war against a magically evil king...

4.

The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien

Bilbo Baggins, aided by the wizard Gandalf and a party of brave dwarves, defeats a mighty dragon and saves Middle Earth from his clutches.

3.

   Murder on the Orient Express,
     by Agatha Christie

A man is murdered on the train overnight, and amidst snow and mystery, the famous Hercule Poirot must uncover the murderer. But the plot thickens and the revelations are more and more shocking...

2.

Out of My Mind, by Sharon M. Draper

A girl with cerebral palsy tries to break down barriers associated with brains and disabilities, encountering some hardship and persecution, but triumphs.

And, finally, Number One:

1.
The Running Dream, by Wendelin Van Draanen

A girl track runner can never run again. When she wakes up and learns how to relive her life, she chooses to pursue a new kind of dream...

And just for kicks, here is an bonus book I have loved from the first moment I read it. It's thin, but size is no match for power.

Bonus:

A Long Walk to Water, by Linda Sue Park

True stories are often the best kind of stories. Combining two separate narrators and real experiences, this story is one-of-a-kind, bringing you the Sudanese desert and search for water, and the battle that rages on.

I hope you find some fantastic reading amterial this summer! As always, subscribe, and comment below!

God bless and happy reading!
